  • TMS - RosettaBridge - Issue with KDMs

    Hi All,

There was a case that a KDM is not matching the server, but it doesn’t have any errors appeared in a scheduled playlist. We only found out that the feature was not able to play when the show has started.
Would you please have a look on this case as we were expecting a notification when feature is not playable.

this case has been going with the support since 6 months and still not solved.

What really happen is KDM was not matching the server of the ICMP.
Screen has CP850 Atmos KDM was matching
TMS relay on on CP850 KDM and reported there is no issue expected mean whlie the KDM for CP850 is not a showstopper but the ICMP KDM is.

Any one has experince this Issue? so far we have update the TMS 5 times as they are adding some features but still i keep testing with the same scenario and TMS wont report an Issue

Frank, if the problem is ongoing for half a year, it probably doesn't have to do with the Deluxe certificates.

Abdulaziz, you are asking the community to have a look at the matter, but -unfortunately- you don't give much info.
Is this a TMS problem? If you log into the ICMP, does it show the DCP locked or unlocked?
If the ICMP shows the DCP/CPL as playable but doesn't play, that is primarily a problem of the ICMP.
If it doesn't show the DCP/CPL as playable, then the info the TMS gets from the ICMP is wrong, and that's a TMS problem.
Yet, further investigation would be helpful.
Like, is this happening only on this server, or everywhere?
Could it be that an ingest from the beginning would solve the issue?
Did the TMS validate the DCP?
Has the same KDM issuer issued other KDMs (for other titles) on that ICMP? If yes, how did that go? (Could it be that they have got a wrong or corrupted certificate?)

All that info (and more) would be helpful for someone to get a clear idea.

As for the long wait for UniqueX to address an issue, good luck. On one or two matters, I am getting an email every odd month saying that they are still waiting for development to figure things out. And that is pretty it. On other occasions, issues are forwarded to the development team without that being absolutely necessary.
I don't know what the workload is for the first-line support, but I don't want to know either. Those problems start and perpetuate because of management.
They either don't know what is going on because they don't care, or they do know what is going on and they don't care.

        Hi
Is this a TMS problem? Yes 100%
If you log into the ICMP, does it show the DCP locked or unlocked? Lockced cus the Main KDM is missing
If the ICMP shows the DCP/CPL as playable but doesn't play, that is primarily a problem of the ICMP, ICMP is readings is correct but from NOC office we manage every thing from TMS even reading KDMs
If it doesn't show the DCP/CPL as playable, then the info the TMS gets from the ICMP is wrong, and that's a TMS problem.(Yes sir TMS dosnt say its not palyable till the show is loaded on the player)
Yet, further investigation would be helpful.
Did the TMS validate the DCP? Yes but in reaaillty its not but TMS read the CP850 KDM and validate the show!!! which doesnt make sense

On one or two matters, I am getting an email every odd month saying that they are still waiting for development to figure things out. And that is pretty it.... Im getting this and everytime they come up with new upgarde and we get into another issues with the updates.

If you contact the maker of the TMS and are told that the problem is due to a bug in their software (since they're waiting for development to figure things out) there likely isn't much you can do to solve the problem yourself since you aren't in a position to rewrite their software.

In that situation your only solutions are to either wait for development to do whatever they're going to do or switch to a different TMS.
