  • TOSLINK convertor

Adding Fathom Events to a screen and need a TOSLINK to DB 25 A/D convertor.
The only ones I'm familiar with are the Dolby DMA8+ and the USL ECI60.
Both are long out of production, and would prefer a new unit.
Google isn't much help as most units have RCA outputs while our CP650 has a DB25 input.
    Any recommendations?
    Thanks

There are plenty of cheap audio converters out there that convert TOSLINK to unbalanced audio. For the CP650 compatible port configuration you'll need to rig up an adapter yourself though. What's the source of the TOSLINK and aren't there any alternatives here like HDMi?

TOSLINK is coming from a DVR. The HDMI is running to a GDC media block.

The DVR doesn't have any analog outputs itself?

DVR not here yet, but from the pictures looks to only have left/right outputs on RCA jacks.
HDMI output to media block, but according to Fathom will not decode Dolby Digital AC-3.

It's not clear what content you want to play via the DVR, but will the content actually be in AC3? And does the DVR support AC3?

If you need 5.1 audio extracted from either HDMI or TOSLINK, there are tons of cheap audio extractors available on Amazon and the likes, especially for HDMI, but for HDMI you'd also need a functioning HDMI stripper or something like a HDFury Vertex to de-embed the audio.
