Sounds like a good idea to me.

When you go to a bar, the bartender pours out the bottle into a glass.

It's called...um... I forget. What do they call it? Oh! Service! Yeah! Customer Service!
I'm sorry. It's been so long since I heard anybody use that word.

Must be different bars than the ones near me; here they take the cap off and only give you a glass if you ask for one.

Not in Montana, they wouldn't. No bar I've ever seen in Montana will pour your bottle into a glass, unless you ask for it that way. They WILL open it for you, but then you drink it right out of the bottle. If you want a glass of beer, you go to a bar that has it on tap. Even nice restaurants will usually offer the "bottle or tap?" option.

Anytime you pour beer into a glass, you cause it to lose some of its fizz, so why would you want to do that?

Pouring aerates the beer and enhances the flavors (if you like that kind of thing)
