In my relentless search to find out which movies use the five-screen channel format, I've finally reunited the two lists posted before into this one, 70mm audio tracks - this includes 6, 7, 8, 9 magnetic tracks, including Dolby Stereo, plus DTS-SV. I'm aware that some five-screen channel releases do not make full use of the format (e.g. LC/RC are empty, or are simply spread of L C R) in particular THANKS TO STEVE GUTTAG; I've changed the ⚪ YES probably with ⚪ unknown accordingly.

Oklahoma! was definitely 6-track with 5-across...it defined the format as the debut feature for Todd-Ao and I've run it many times. I'm reasonably sure Oliver! had all five channels playing. I'm also reasonably certain that I've played Chitty Chitty Bang Bang in 70mm with 5-screen channels. Ben Hur is a definite (played it) 6-track mix.

So E.T. has two mixes, one five-channel and one baby boom, right?
And discovering Fire and Away and Indiana Jones III having a five-channel mix too is an amazing find!

Yes Allan, I'd like to include only feature-lenght movies - hence excluding documentaries, shorts etc.

Fine, it's your list. Although as anyone who's heard Cinerama sound will attest, you're excluding films which feature some of the finest ever use of five screen channels.

You need to remove all the Cinerama 8-track titles plus The Best of Cinerama and Cinerama's Russian Adventure; all documentaries.

Regarding the Kinopanorama titles you've listed, I'd hazard a guess that The Volga Flows On is a documentary, considering it was also released in an edited form which lost 50 minutes of footage. The Law of Antartica sounds to me like a documentary title too. Sleeping Beauty is a documentary record of a ballet performance.

I can't find any evidence that The Secret of my Success was a Kinopanorama release outside the Russian wiki article you mentioned. That article references the Kinopanorama page at in70mm.com (https://www.in70mm.com/library/proce...ilms/index.htm), but there's no mention of this title there.

I agree that Cinerama docs could be interesting for a general public, but I wonder how many documentaries/shorts etc. were shot in 70mm?

In case, what about two lists - one for movies, and for the others?

As the list as it is now takes two posts anyway, OK, let's add docs and shorts; I must add Williamsburg: The Story of a Patriot as Steve suggested previously. What about splitting the main list in two: five-screen channels (and potential ones) and non-five screen channels? Then docs and shorts included, with a note.

"The Miracle Of Todd-AO" is the only 70mm Todd-AO short I know of. At least one print survives. Also "In The Picture is a recent Cinerama short film.
