The Omnex rectifier was high-reactance. Multi-tapped transformers to adjust the output, choke, capacitors and diodes. Simple but effective. Closest design in circuitry terms you guys would be used to was likely the ORC XPS

Thanks, everyone. If there's no problem with using the emergency ignition switch, I'll just continue doing that. It does have an IREM rectifier.

Did you happen to check the no load DC of the Irem?

          Sorry, no idea.

Without modification the IREM and the JOVY were built to the original OSRAM spec for 80v no load

Weather they work or not depends on the AC three phase. If you have three phase with a high leg then they work fine. But if your building has 208 three phase, then new lamps only work consistantly for 300 to 400 hours. After which ignition becomes unreliable iand it t stays unreliable. Doesn't matter the brand of lamp either. Running air conditioning in the summer worsens it. The new maid booster permanently fixes the problem.

Using the manual ignite button will be fine, just dont hold it down any longer than to spark the bulb, if you do, you can burn up the HV autotransformer. Otherwise, We did that for years on the Xenex PUP (Had no autostrike) and the Cinemeccanica 900W vertical lamps, never had any problems
