    DSS200 4.9.5.2

I have a test pattern DCP from which I wanted to make a video file. I believe DCP-O-MATIC can do this. I copied it on to a CRU-mounted drive. I verified by "live playing" from the CRU drive. But on attempting to open it in DCP-O-MATIC, it says it's missing assetmap. Same thing with DCP-O-MATIC PLAYER. This is correct. No assetmap file. So if that's an integral part of a DCP how could it live play without it?

You exported it from a DSS, they are known for leaving out assetmap and packing list files in exports, because DSS don't need these files for re-ingest.

Strange, because with DSS software versions >4.9, the DSS should export assetmap and packing list as well.

You can find the full DCP by FTPing into the DSS and getting it from 'generatedPackages' folder.

However, you may not need to do this, as you can probably just use the MXF files from that DCP. That is, don't import DCP into dcpomatic, but the MXFs by using 'Add File'. This works for most 'simple' DCPs.

I recently wanted to pull several test DCP files off of a server before it was junked,
and ran into the same problem. I just loaded only the j2c MXF video files into DCP
O Matic like Carsten says, and re-rendered a new set of tests. It was quick and easy.
