  • Barry Lyndon (4K 2025 w/Intermission)

Barry Lyndon (2025 4K US DCPs)

packaged as two DCPs with intermission card internal.

Intermission card exists internally and occurs at the end of the 1st DCP
We added this "time" to our intermissions cheat sheet in the booth: 1h42m29

Apologies I do not have the exact frame offset of where the intermission card starts or concludes, from memory it was not a full intermission length, just a card requiring a pause if you wanted it to linger longer.

Sharing this now because Mark just shared the original projectionists note for the archives over in the photos/videos topic! Cool history! Would like to find that walkin and intermission music for next time!

It almost sounds like that tape/LP was just the film music again? Surely not? (For the vast majority of my screenings I consider including exact soundtrack/score songs a taboo, unless they are only using tiny snippets in the film).

If curious here is what I played:

Here is the track list from the original soundtrack recording:

      The intermission
      follows this scene:

The intermission card runs about 16 seconds.

Cheers.I'm less impressed with the intent if it is just a copy of the score they were playing as house music.
But it is stuff they already had rights to, so kinda makes some sense.

Plus this was 75 we are talking about... they were already pressing one LP or cutting a tape... doing another one off just for exhibition walkin would have been prohibitively expensive. I guess the real question is what would Kubrick have suggested in 2025 with so much music at our fingertips?

Here is a more useful screenshot for the LP that will let you know what side 2 Band 2 is if you want to do the original intent. ;-)

I played this (DCP) several months ago. Somebody had shared a 're-creation'
of the original intermission slide and music with me. It worked very well. I think
I still have it on a hard drive somewhere, but I'm still up in Telluride, so I can't
          confirm that.

It will probably be years before I show it again, but I’m sure someone else will find the OG intermission card useful if you add it here. Have a great rest of fest!
