    We are currently seeking a Projectionist to join our IFC Center team based in New York, New York.

    Job Responsibilities
    • Operation of D-Cinema and 35mm motion picture equipment and digital video projection equipment during daily exhibition of films across 5 screens, 25 to 35 shows per day.
    • Oversight of the Theater Management System (TMS) for building-wide control and scheduling of the D-cinema content, including ingesting content, building playlists, scheduling each day, and making changes when required.
    • Building and subsequently breaking down 35mm motion picture films for platter projection or preparing the 35mm prints for reel to reel projection. Every film requires an inspection form to be completed for quality control purposes.
    • Projectionist is expected to oversee and organize incoming and outgoing print traffic and shipping coordinating with programming coordinator. Engaging with distribution houses and labs to resolve delivery and digital key issues.
    • Maintain projection booth equipment, including splicers, rewind tables, platters, lamphouses, and projectors. Change xenon bulbs in film and video projectors. Align video and film projectors for every aspect ratio.
    • IFC Center hosts panel discussions, Q & As, conversations with film directors and other live events with films. The projectionist is required to set up all relevant audio equipment for these events and monitor quality presentation throughout the event.
    • In addition to the 5 auditoriums, IFC Center displays content on 3 large monitors in the lobby, operated through a building-wide audio visual control system. The projectionist is responsible for administering changes in programming content for the various screen panels.
    • Communicate with management and floor staff on presentation issues and print traffic issues, offering recommendations for resolution.
    • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
    QUALIFICATIONS (Required & Preferred)
    • High School Diploma
    • 0-2 years of relevant work experience
    • The ability to operate D-Cinema, 35mm, and High-Definition video equipment.
    • A detailed knowledge of film image and sound formats.
    • Experience with Crestron controlled audio and video equipment.
    • Experience with live sound reinforcement equipment, including mixing consoles, compressors, graphic equalizers and microphones, for music and speech special events.
    • The ability to troubleshoot video and audio equipment, including projector automation.
    • General knowledge of Windows, Mac, and Linux platforms and interface software for various equipment control. Computer networking experience is a plus. - Basic knowledge of MicroSoft Outlook, Final Cut Pro, Abode Photoshop, and Mac OS.
    • Ability to understand and execute all safety and security procedures.
    The base compensation range for this position is $22/hr commensurate with experience.
