      That's entirely possible with foreign movies. But when the theaters were doing it, they had no problem getting licensing popular stuff to run. If it's a foreign film thats distributed by a US Distributer then again... if the distributer is ok with it then they will license those too. I can't think of any foreign titles they ran though. One theater would have folded had it not been for Blew Rae's.

        Even within the Domestic USA some studio license the DVD rights to other companies and you have to get the playback rights from them

          Gord, That split is all handled by Distribution. You are correct though if a foreign or independent film has no US distributer.
