There may be other factors at play here, I don't know your community, but the movie itself is also am important factor. This is a kids movie and I guess you can't expect packed rooms on weekdays, when kids are supposed to go to bed rather early. There also was close to zero marketing for this movie, at least around here and it's opening here tomorrow and I guess the release timing is somewhat bad, as Halloween is still a few weeks away.

I guess Venom and the new Bond movie you seem to be playing in the coming weeks will draw some more people. Especially the Bond movie had quite some attention in the media, due to the many times it has been postponed. As for the new Venom movie: Pretty much zero hype here yet, but we'll see how far it will go...

So many times I've locked the door and started vacuuming, etc. Only to see someone come out from the bathroom and leave. Had no idea anyone was still in the building. Now, I start checking them before I do anything else.

As far as Addams. I felt that it was okay, haven't really heard anything negative but nothing positive either. The 2019 film was much better. Maybe it's just nice having a family film on the screen. We really haven't had family fare for the young kids since "Spirit". It's actually doing pretty well here and has been our best turn out since Jungle Cruise. And after the Cry Macho crowd....it's nice to actually sell concessions. The grosses seem to be all over the map for both Venom and Addams. I think Venom would have tanked here. Fingers crossed for Bond.....

Did they at least wash their hands?

I honestly don't know why we had such a good crowd Saturday night. There must have been absolutely nothing else going on in town. Well there was an Octoberfest, which is a big drinking bash for grownups, so that might explain a lot of the "tweens" we had at the movie. Every other night we've had anywhere from 5 to 20 people but no shut-outs yet. We still have 3 nights to go though.

My attendance dropped like a rock as soon as the vaccine passport requirement came in. And it was already down a lot from what it was pre-virus, of course.

I have been thinking (hoping) that it's just the movie that I'm playing, but:

Saskatchewan’s vaccine mandate seems to be making a dent in attendance at already struggling bingo halls, worsening a fundraising pinch for charities and non-profits that rely on drawing crowds of players.

Amalgamated Charities Inc. runs five bingo halls in Regina, Moose Jaw and Saskatoon. Its president and COO, Patsy Warren, estimates that revenues dropped by about 20 per cent since a proof-of-vaccine requirement came into effect last week.
            ...
And that’s relative to the already depressed levels Warren has seen since the halls reopened in June, as part of Phase 2 of the province’s second reopening plan. All told, she figures bingo revenue and attendance is down about 40 to 45 per cent compared to normal.
            ...
Casinos are seeing similar attendance trends. SaskGaming, which operates Casino Regina and Casino Moose Jaw, has seen a 25 to 30 per cent decrease in revenue and a 19 per cent drop in guest count since the mandate took effect, according to spokesperson Shanna Schulhauser.

Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority (SIGA) has also seen a drop, according to spokesperson Alanna Adamko. She said numbers were down at all of their casinos over the first weekend under proof-of-vaccine requirements, compared to the same period the year prior.

            Egad. That isn't exactly positive.

I had thought people would go out more with the vaccine passport requirement because it would make them feel safer, but it doesn't look like that's happening so far.

The problem I suspect is alot of the people who now are not coming out are the anti vaxers

Yeah. There appears to be a really surprising (to me) number of those around here.

I haven't so far had anyone show up here to complain about the vaccine passport, but I have had a couple of people that I've met here and there (on the street, grocery store, etc.) ask if there's a requirement for the vaccine passport and when I say yes they reply, "Well, I guess I won't be coming to any movies there then."

Addams has been doing OKAY for us and we're probably gonna hold it until Ron's Gone Wrong is out, just to have a kids show for a while. I actually fell asleep a few times when I test screened Addams, so I can't comment too much on the quality lol.

Spirit was just awful though. At least Venom got us a lot of sales last weekend
