Presumably they're still with Decurion, which owns the Cinerama Dome in Hollywood. Maybe they'd be open to a licensing deal? I heard various rumors and intel about plans to reopen the Hollywood theater, and the Arclight 15-plex, in early to mid-2022, but nothing since. It would certainly make sense to try to share expertise on the projection side of things if it is desired to get three-strip 35mm Cinerama operational again: there can't be many people left with the knowledge needed to do so. I was given a tour of the Hollywood Dome's booth in January 2022, at which time all the projectors, platters, magnetic reproducers and interlocking gear appeared to be present and intact. There were also several prints in the booth. Assuming that nothing has been removed since then, getting it working again should be feasible.

While $2M are a start, it's hard to believe it will get you very far in an expensive operating environment like Seattle. You'd think that someone from the billionaire's club of Microsoft, Amazon and Starbucks would be eager to take the lead from Vulcan, but apparently, none of them are interested in preserving a pretty unique piece of cinematic history...
