Did any of you get a lot of people asking "when's Hocus Pocus 2 going to play?" We did, even though the movie is only Disney Plus. For quite a while I was thinking Disney had made one of the most bonehead moves in their history by not releasing this long-awaited sequel to one of their biggest "cult classics" in theaters. After all, we played "Hocus Pocus" in the fall of 2020 as one of our oldie-but-goodie shows during the pandemic and we had the second-best crowds of that whole period for it.
But now after the new movie has come out, I'm thinking they may have made a good move (for us). People I've talked to have said the new movie was underwhelming, not as good as the original, or just "bad." So now I'm kind of glad that we're not going to play it, since I hate playing a movie that most people are guaranteed to think was a waste of their money.
