  • QSC forms new divisions

Well, the article remains vague about what the real strategy will be and as usual, I'm pretty skeptical about what's going to happen. Essentially they're going to split the organization into Q-SYS on one side and QSC on the other. Q-SYS will no longer be a QSC brand, but rather an independent brand run by an independent company, that happens to have the same owner (for now) as QSC.

Usually, when they do this, they're preparing to sell one or the other, because they think they can fetch more if they split it in smaller, juicier chunks. For example, Q-SYS may be valuable to a company like JBL/Harman (Samsung), but the QSC lineup of professional audio products is, for a large part (and not discussing their individual qualities), redundant for them.

What remains fuzzy though, is what products will end-up where. Will we be buying Q-SYS controllers from Q-SYS, but Q-SYS-enabled amps from QSC? Or will both remain available via QSC as frontend, where Q-SYS, the company, will be merely a software company?

I didn't make it past the second sentence before my bullshit detector slammed against the peg.

I am sick and tired of reading fake interviews with pre-digested questions and answers that are little more than 1990's vintage corporate doublespeak.

Yeah, that guy must have majored in "jargon" with a minor in "gobbledegook."

Well, my suspicions are confirmed. Wherever this interview, article or press release comes from it's totally canned.

I found two more links to identical stories, all claiming to be exclusive interviews with the same person.

          https://www.avnetwork.com/news/exclu...dent-divisions
          https://www.dailyadvent.com/news/1da...dent-Divisions

The two stories link back to each other, too.

The link first posted says that the interview was originally on avnetwork.com, and dailyadvent appears to be an aggregator that just scrapes content from other websites.

So it apparently was original on avnetwork and these other guys just hijacked it.
