While I found Jennifer Hudson's performance of Aretha Franklin commendable, unfortunately the movie fell into the trap of typical bio-pic movies, not that that's a bad thing, it felt a little to rote for my taste. Excellent cast. The Dolby Atmos mix (Dolby Cinema, AMC Georgetown) did not impress.
