In one of the few bits of good news I've seen for a cinema this year, the Edinburgh Filmhouse announced today that they will be continuing with their plans to build a new "world-class centre for film".
Plans show five screens (an increase of three from their current building), a larger bar, studio, education workspace, and rooftop area too! The plans and website make it look stunning, and I'm glad that COVID hasn't seemed to put a stop to this plan, which had a public consultation earlier this year. One thing that's also nice is that they're keeping the ability to run film (they currently run 35mm and 70mm) - which was one of the first questions I asked!
