In 2019, more Americans went to the library than to the movies. Yes, really.

Now that you can research almost anything online, and many books are available electronically, than
I think it's fairly safe to assume that most of the people (other than the indigent) who go to a library are
going there to physically borrow a book - - in which case "a trip to the library"is actually TWO trips-
one to borrow the book(s) & one to return. - - whereas going to a movie, sports event or casino are
all "one trip" occurrences. I wonder if this was factored into their study and might account for why
some people say they 'go to the library' more frequently than other venues. It's food for thought.

I've been using the Internet even before the World Wide Web became popular, primarily for e-mail. Maybe I'm getting old or something, but I still like visiting libraries and bookstores. No web store can really replace the joy of just randomly strolling around and browsing through a bunch of books.

The same with Cinema: no TV screen at home can replace a proper cinema. It's not all just about pixels, inches and decibels...
