This movie is a lot funnier than I expected it to be. Some of the horror comedies go overboard on the chopping up and forget that they're supposed to be silly. Freaky manages to stay in the groove of preposterous but funny, though there's no shortage of blood and gore to be found here as well.
Kathryn Newton is a very good actress; she can switch between high school girl and insane killer within a single scene and make both of them look pretty convincing.
Ultimately, I like this movie quite a bit more than I expected to. It's obviously a teenager show so we'll see how many teens come to see it this week.
