  • Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom

I saw the second best movie in the Indiana Jones trilogy last night at Harkins Northfield, on their 70' Cine 1 screen.

It was a blast. Seeing it on the big screen again made me realize how much Michael Kahn's editing elevates the movie.

I think they were projecting the new 4k remaster, but I'm not sure.

The presentation had an issue I've never seen before. The picture seemed to "stutter forward" regularly, as if a "frame" was missing every so often. It was minor - almost imperceptible, but it happened throughout the movie. Does anyone know what could cause that?

It also suffered from the "digital muck" where solid blocks of color seem to "swim" with something that almost looks like film grain, but isn't. (This was also minor.)

Next Tuesday, Last Crusade is playing on their premium screens in AZ, CA, & OK, but at Northfield, it's been kicked to a small auditorium by some sort of private event.
