That stuff was installed long before SR even existed... Considering the majority of his films would be mono it's actually quite fitting.

Jack Cashin worked for Charlie Ajar back in the day so it would make sense. A lot of private rooms were done by Ajar and he included Ultra Stereo in most.

Charlie called me at Dolby to apply for a dealership. I initially turned him down.

Criteria was a market niche not interfering with an existing dealer in that "zone". Dolby were not short of dealers in Hollywood. As I remember it, he really wanted it just in case the customer demanded it, otherwise they would get USL by default.
