One of the great Bass players passed away on May 13, 2012. Donald "Duck" Dunn.

Film folks would remember him as part of the Blues Brothers band. However he was also a session Bassist for STAX records as well as playing in Booker T and the MGs. His list of songs and concerts would be too many to list here.

While he may not show up in everyone's top 10, he should be in the top 25 of any objective list that includes R&B. Kinda like James Jamerson...you might not realize how good he was until you realize how many songs you like had him playing the bass.

He was all over recording sessions in the 1970s. I think he played with Steely Dan a few times too.

I'm surprised Disney didn't sue him over his nickname. [Big Grin]
