Jimmy Dean sold the sausage biz to Sarah Lee Company quite a few years back. The deal included using his name on the product. Jimmy wasn't happy with the way Sarah Lee was handling the product, but could do nothing. I learned this from a radio interview he gave back about 8 years ago. RIP Big Bad John

He lived in the Richmond area for the last 20 or so years. Very unassuming in public, gave his support to lots of local events. His house burned nearly to the ground a couple years age--he and his wife escape unharmed, the house was completed last fall I believe.
