Author Topic: Buffer speed Vista Jonathan Worthing Master Film Handler Posts: 384 From: Hereford, UK Registered: Apr 2001 posted 02-02-2010 02:12 PM                     How do I increase the buffer in Vista? I have a broadband connection but it is still quite slow. When I am watching TV shows online it jumps and keeps freezing. Give this a whirl and see how you go... Right click on my computer, go to properties. Click on the advanced tab, and then click on the settings button that's inside the box that says performance. Click on the advanced tab in that and click on the "change" button in the virtual memory box at the bottom. Increase the number in the initial size and maximum size boxes by about 100, try 150 each. Vista and Windows 7 do that automatically, not like XP. You can have both a fast computer and fast service but we're all still dependent of the source.
