OK, so NATO's contract to be sponsor of ShoWest is running out next year, and they have opted to create their own convention instead of renewing. Here's a bit of info:

- It will be at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas
- 2011 Dates: March 28-31 (in succeeding years it will move later into April)
- Supposedly it's going to cost less than ShoWest to attend, but no particulars yet
- Some of the same people who have been running ShoWest have signed on to go to work for the new convention

Good idea? Bad idea? What will happen to ShoWest? Will you go to the new confab, stick with the old one or what?

Caesar's Palace is right across the street from the Bally's where Showest is normally held and tons larger of a complex than Ballys any day of the week-along with being a more of a worldwide, trademark location.

Getting it down to spring break week will definitely increase opportunities for ones to go down there...and hopefully do a price cut in registrations.

About the only two pluses I can think of ... others will chime in with their opinions and comments.

My understanding is NATO has already received commitments from the studios to have a bigger presence since it will be more limited to just exhibitors. With any luck this will mean more product to see. Hopefully it will also mean more vendors with more samples and demos at the trade show.
