Registered: Dec 1999 posted 08-26-2009 12:46 AM                     Link Senator Edward Kennedy has died, CNN has reported, quoting a statement from the family. Kennedy, a member of the fabled American political family, had been battling brain cancer. He was 77. He followed his brothers, President John F Kennedy and Senator Robert F Kennedy - who were both assassinated - as a leading Democrat in US politics. "We've lost the irreplaceable centre of our family and joyous light in our lives, but the inspiration of his faith, optimism and perseverance will live on in our hearts forever,'' a family statement said. "We thank everyone who gave him care and support over this last year, and everyone who stood with him for so many years in his tireless march for progress toward justice.'' The Kennedy family said he died at his home in Hyannisport, Massachussetts. I lived in MA for a couple years.. most expensive place I've ever lived, but I'm sure Ted had nothing to do with that. Ted Kennedy was an institution in that state, and everyone seemed to love him.
