Pretty simple premise. Find a movie where your name is the same as one of its characters and post it here. Or post other FT member names and examples of movie characters with identical names.

To get started, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band was one of the biggest big budget movie disasters of the 1970's. The songs from the classic Beatles album were forced into movie form with The Bee Gees and Peter Frampton playing the main characters. I think Aerosmith and Steve Martin were among the few whose careers were not totally screwed up by this movie. Surprisingly, one of the HBO channels was airing this thing tonight and as I was flipping past it I caught my own name mentioned. Yeah. The balding drummer from the Bees Gees (the late Maurice Gibb) played a character named "Bob Henderson." Shit.

Why couldn't my name by used by a character in a cool movie?

Interesting. IMDB search shows Clint Howard played a character named Tim Reed in a movie called, "Salty" (1973). I'll have to look out for that one.

Otherwise, closest I came was one of the guys on the TV show "Emergency" was called Jim Reed. It sounded like my name sometimes. Also, the actor Tim Reid was Venus Flytrap on "WKRP". But that was it.

No characters, but some actor named me apparently played about 25 different bit roles on bad TV shows I mostly didn't recognize. I'm thinking he's British.

Oh, and I apparently wrote an episode of "Batman" and some dialogue for "The Little Mermaid".

WHERE THE HELL ARE MY ROYALTIES

Me too, unless there's a character named "Mike Leonard" or something. (Leonard being my middle name.)

No movie characters, though Calvin Trillin wrote a story once where a novelist with my name (and spelling) won an award. Several people have asked me what novel I won an award for. My mother even thought he based it on me (and I've never written a novel). [Big Grin]

Not yet, but Jeff Goldblum is in talks to play me in an untitled bio-pic to be released sometime in the future.

There was a movie called "Joshua" that came out a few years ago but he certainly did not have my Scandanavian last name.

Not me, but there is one actor whose name is close to mine: Antonio Banderas.

A long time ago the "new girl" at a vendor I dealt with thought I was the actor trying to get under the radar with my real name. [Big Grin]

Now if the novel I'm writing makes it into a movie form, well there will be a character with my real name in a movie then.

Speaking of

... on the episode titled "Day's Play" of the TV show "Cheyenne", John Durren plays a character named Phil McCracken:

As for me, I haven't heard of any with my first & last name. In past internet searches I've come across a TV weatherman somewhere with my name, maybe he'll be in a movie one day. Of course there's the Pearl Jam song "Jeremy" which was pretty popular when I was in HS, but that's off topic.

That sounds like a stage name for someone who performs in gay adult videos.
