Just paging thru Boxoffice I noticed an article about Sensurround and was remembering the movie "Rollercoaster." Given all the advances in amusement parks since that film was made, I think it'd be ripe for a remake.

Rollercoaster might possibly be worthy of a remake if a decent script could be put together to support it. I didn't like the original very much at all.

What about FOX and Dimension 150's "Damnation Alley" of 1976? Grab that same vehicle, do some hi-tech CGA's in it, add some buffed out actors/actresses in it along with a decent story and plot, and you might just come out with another explosion filled, brain dead Michael Bay wannabe feature.

Sadly, Universal's "Earthquake" and "Midway" were great features in Sensurround (saw them at the Century 21 and the UTAH 1 theatres respectively in their release years in SLC), but when "Rollercoaster" came out...what happened? This was a terrible movie..and to ruin it with the sound process?

A couple films I liked as a kid that would be pretty cool in modern 3D are Honey I Shrunk the Kids and Inner Space.

Or you could go the raunchy Jud Apatow way with Bachelor Party, Back to School and License to Drive.

Gus Van Sant has talked about doing another remake of Psycho which would be the polar opposite of his other one. Instead of following the original shot for shot, this new one would be a complete reimagining on every level. I think that would be really interesting to see.

After CASINO ROYALE, I was kind of hoping that they'd just start re-adapting the James Bond books in order, starting with LIVE AND LET DIE. That's what I would've done.

But the movie which I would most like to see remade is ALIEN 3. They should do what the rest of us do and pretend that the original never existed, and adapt Mark Verheiden's ALIENS comic book instead.

I'm about ready for a "epic" war movie remake. How about a "Guns of Navarone" or maybe "The Longest Day"?

I'd like to see someone do a good version of A Separate Peace. I've always liked the book, but the 1970s film version is hideously bad. I don't think that it would be terribly difficult to do this one well on a low budget.

That said, I'm not generally a fan of remakes, especially if the original version was good. The work once in a while, but the original version is almost always better.

There was a remake of A Separate Peace within the last year or two, I think...possibly made for TV.

Personally...I can't think of any film I wan't remade...if was good orginally...then leave it alone and watch it...if it was bad...who wants to see another bad movie?

Personally, I don't care for remakes except some silent films that were remade in sound; "The Ten Commandments", "Ben-Hur", etc.

'Show Boat' would be one which I would add; it's about the only film I can think of where the re-make (1936) was better than the original (1929) version. Why they then had to re-make it yet again just fifteen years or so later, I don't know. Was it simply that they wanted it to be in colour?

Monte the only two Dimension 150 films were "The Bible" and "Patton".
You must be thinking of "Sound 360".

Not enough time has passed for a remake to be worthwhile, but I think Species could have been a much better monster movie if not for some stupid choices in character that took the plot in a direction that made no sense.

I would like to see a remake of "The Final Countdown", making use of CGI and some twisted story telling it could be pretty fun. They could cast Michael Douglas, Charlie Sheen and Megan Fox.

Speaking of remakes, anyone seen the trailer for "Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans"?
