Next Wednesday. Beginning a 3-year saga of film production classes at the Miami International Unicersity of Art and Design. (They're on a quarterly system, which is why they start in October.) This will be quite an adventure. 12 11-week quarters with very short 1-3 week breaks between.

I envy you.

Youth. [Frown]

Best to you, John! Crack those books (and, if one of them isn't at least "The 5 C's of Cinematography" by Joseph Mascelli, ask for your money back)! [Wink] Keep us posted. [thumbsup]

I sure don't! I would never want to go thru all that crap again! I like it where I AM... but I sometimes agree with "Youth is wasted on the young" philosophy. [Wink] [Razz]

OMG Tim! I have my original red-cover hardcover of "The 5 C's of Cinematography" and have referred to it many times since I got it as a teen. All the principles are valid today as they were 30+ years ago when it was originally published.

A great resource for a cinematographer and director...film and/or video!

Phil, I've been a big proponent of that book for a long time. "The 5 C's" should be required reading in every film program, without exception! Studying that book advanced the look of my work exponentially. Moreso than any single volume, before or since.

Agreed with everything you said, except re: youth... there's so much (and so many) I'd like to "do over". [Razz]

Richard, I'd love that! I only have a Macbeth Color Chart.
