We just got a spreadsheet from NATO showing 110 instances of movie theft via camcorder, tracked back to individual theatres, from March 1 of this year thru July 31.

The most "hits" came from New York - 43. California only had 5.

All of the "hits" were within a week or two of the movie's release date, except one from Decatur Alabama, where some idiot pirated a movie released in 2004. (Maybe Jeff Foxworthy's right about rednecks, eh?)

Anyway, it is kind of interesting and does seem to prove that the industry's vigilance about movie theft seems to be paying off. I wonder how many of these were camcorders caught in theatres, and how many were found out by the CAP coding?
