Very impressive, IF he lost it the natural (hard) way. I lost 100 pounds and it wasn't easy but it's doable... he lost way more than that though, obviously.

My guess is that he underwent gastric bypass surgery.

But, I wouldn't scoff at his determination. If you compare the his first picture to his last picture, he as made great progress in improving his health and appearance. This has probably made a large improvement in his quality of life and self-esteem. It looks as though he maintains a workout regimen and gained some muscle mass. He has certainly improved all aspects of his life due to it. I wouldn't consider bypass surgery cheating, if the person decides to change his lifestyle to maintain the weight loss. A lot of morbidly obese people feel the only option left to them is bypass, and it is proving to be a viable option to them.

I say great job. I've known a few people who had gastric bypass that lost a considerable amount of weight, but never improved their diet or eating habits. These people ended up gaining a considerable amount of weight back, therefore defeating the entire bypass operation.

Yeah he definitely deserves "kudos" or whatever for seeing it all the way through. Compare him to Carnie Wilson who is (or was) fat again after all her press about the weight loss.

He's young, so his face is still pliable and sprung right back as if he'd never been overweight. I, unfortunately, will have to deal with the saggy stuff he has elsewhere, under my chin. Yuck! [Eek!]
