Monday night I had a routine vomiting episode that became less and less routine as it went on. To put this in perspective, let me catch you up to date...

I have RSD (reflex sympathetic dystrophy), which is mighty painful and incurable. The medication to keep a fine balance between pain and funtion is disconcerting and causes frequent revisits of breakfast, lunch, and sometimes dinner.

Monday night was so severe that the force of which ruptured several blood vessels in my face and around my right eye, causing a swelling of the right side of my face as well as a minor black eye... it was the strangest thing, and my doctor had never heard of such a thing. He was convinced I lost a fist fight, and I felt like i had. I am still recovering from the muscle pulls throughout my chest, abdomen and right arm. I even sprained my right wrist in the process...

The doctor says I will be just fine. I feel better, but still cannot beleive anything like this has never happened to anyone. I have tried searching the internet, to no avail....

Anyone else hear of this before?

Ciao

Wow...Sorry about your luck, Dave. Hope you feel better soon.

My brother had something like that happen once...
No incurable condition, just stupidity. He drank WAY too much and that was the result. Both eyes, his forehead, and a cheek were all black and blue.

I had one of those episodes too, but won't repeat that one.

I haven't heard of the black eyes. I have heard of passing out when vomiting. My wife had the 24 hour flu once, and every time she would throw up she would hit the floor. I had never heard of that happening before. When we went to the Dr. they said it happens often and more commonly when people are on the toilet. The extra "pressure" cuts of circulation to the brain.

Reminds me of the Family Guy when Stewie tries to fart and blows the blood vessel in his eye.

I think that everyone should post in this thread when they vomit and offer descriptions and pictures.
