I've had this one indoor potted houseplant in my kitchen bay window for 11 years and haven't managed to kill it off...yet. I HAVE NO CLUE as to what it is.. it has NO flowers...only leaves which continue to grow new ones as the old ones die and fall off. I'm not a botanist.

While I do water it when *I* feel it needs it... i.e., when its leaves start to droop. I fully believe its survival is due to me frequently gently stroking its leaves and lovingly talking to it.

When on an extended trip, and when I come home it appears dead, then I revive it as I mention above. Also, if I don't pay it any attention to it for awhile, it kicks its dirt out of its pot...the bitch! HA!

When it gets used to the sun's orientation, I rotate it. Then all the leaves move to the new position to soak up the rays of the sun. I do this just to piss it off and give it exercise so it doesn't get fat! HA!

Phil, you funny! [Big Grin] I seem to recall watching some show on Discovery or something that said plants DO respond to audio vibrations, by some mechanism.

So, Phil... ya really tryin' to kill it, or just torture it? [Razz]
[thumbsup]

I always feel that plants are mocking me, so I hide from them.

Jamie and Adam's build crew on Mythbusters did an experiment on this subject. As I recall, the plant subjected to heavy metal music thrived the best.

You mean 'potted' plants, right? If not, the police are on their way. [Wink]
