Does anybody have contacts with anyone in the music industry? I want to help someone if I can. We are in the entertainment industry, I thought maybe somebody might know someone.

Thanks, Rick

I know a published music composer (ASCAP) from the ad film business. He's been in retirement for about 10 years. Will that help, or are you looking for someone like a producer to get someone's record out?

I don't have any good contacts aside from running a basement record label but don't overlook the do it yourself approach. Recording and pressing records yourself, creating a web page, a myspace page, selling discs on CDbaby.com, releasing songs online etc can fill the gap.

Try to get the attention of a A&R person, if you want to get someone noticed. Just knowing someone who works at a label probably won't get you anywhere, unless it's an A&R guy/girl. I know a few street team managers at 3 record labels, but they have no say on who gets signed and who doesn't.

you can always start a Myspace music spot for him/her hehe

A theater near you soon!

It was my understanding that a real location was required when registering. Am I mistaken?

Yeah, there was a time when the moderators would have caught such a thing in 10 seconds or less. I think they all must have gotten real jobs or something and don't hang around here much anymore. [Wink]

I am very curious why you would ask this. It doesn't relate to this thread. I live in hotel rooms 99 percent of the time throughout the world. I don't have a location.
