^^^^ I propose the above as the new title for the "Who the HECK are you?" thread.

And maybe the techs could tweak the site so it plays that song repeatedly until you submit a member photo.

It's going.

Got to meet Bob Maar in person last night at Quark's. Will probably get to meet more people tonight at The Drink. But before that I've gotta run out to the Henderson campus to pick up and post flyers for an upcoming presentation I'm doing for the local JACL chapter on the 27th. The topic: Anime - Japan's Latest Cultural Export. Building the clip reel for this has been fun.

Teaching just one class and taking one JPN212 class this semester. After three years it looks like the teaching thing is not going to pan out into a full-time thing, so starting to look for something else that will lead back to full-time employment.

And so it goes.

I missed Quarks due to the screening of "CARS" that I wanted to see, plus the reception dinner afterwards... Hey, "free food and as much as one can eat." Who can pass that up !

"CARS" and digital presentation....what a combo!

..missed the "drink" also due to that I had to get home to stay ahead of the crazy weather coming off of the coast (and just barely too...)

..maybe next year - get better planned. But, still had TONS of fun!

thx all - Monte

Hi everybody! I'm new to Fil-tech, but not to the movie industry. I've been a booth operator for about three years now. I have to admit I don't know everything about the projection booth but I'm learning. The theatre I work at is in the process of getting the new DLP projectors in and I'm looking forward to working on them.

Larry

PS. I'm pretty ugly so I don't have a good picture to post and show everybody yet.

Larry--

Welcome to Film-Tech. Good luck on your new DLP's as it takes
an engineer to install and maintain them. They ARE NOT a film
projector. [thumbsup]

The thing that has yet to be revealed is that these guys are going with JUST DLP on many screens... no film backup at all. They are building a new 20 screener and only 10 screens will get film projectors, the other 10 will get DLP. Those 10 film projectors for the new location are comming OUT of two of their other two locations... 5 each.... to be replaced by DLP Equipment only. NEC DLPs-Dolby Servers-CP650.

So lets chack back with Larry later this year and ask him how's it going...... [Big Grin]
