If you handed out those burnt CD's, no problem, but for a cost, is a big no-no if a word got out.

Westminster was eventually absorbed into by ABC Records in the early 70's. ABC, in turn, was all but gobbled up by the megacompany MCA in 1979 - in turn became UMC (Universal Music Company) for the present.

Big time trouble there with this copyright from the defunct company.

You still have those half-track 15ips masters?

-thx Monte

Is it illegal? Yeah. Is anything going to happen? Doubtful. (But if I were you I would erase your post and forget about it. No sense courting trouble.)

You'll have to wait another 25 years before it becomes legal domain.

..unless the copyright gets renewed by the original owner, then you're definitely out of luck.

Nah Bill, to be safe: don't do it for the bucks - just eat the cost of giving a gift.

A local man found the tapes on some internet auction. The Liebert LP has one more song than the tape. The Leaf thing only has 6 songs--16 minutes.
