I finally finished the installation of my home movie theatre with the certified THX sensaround sound system.I equalized it using a 1/3 octive RTA and a really flat mic. and It really rocks, ...eat your heart out Joe. Next year I plan on making the next big jump and upgrade to a 13" color TV set.

Joe, did I say this probably blows the doors off your oh so average system. Here at the drive in, the booth monkeys refer to your system as the: Average Joe's System.
When I turn this baby up to 11, they can hear it all the way in Modesto.

I don't see any Thermionic stuff in there... The CRT in the 3 incher just doesn't qualify him.... this guy's no audiofile..... I'll stick with either Joe's or Andy's system any day [thumbsup] . They are both the audiofile guru's for sure.... they know what it is all about.

You assume I got started right away. The real time was closer to about 7 minutes.

OK, class, let's discuss the graphic design angle of this a bit.

Official plaque? Bah! The Dolby Digital logo is all wrong! Looks like the lame Brands of the World website strikes again. The double D icon is just plain inaccurate. And whoever guessed on the fonts guessed way off the map. Arial Bold is not it. Shit, the would-be artist would have gotten more points from me if he used Comic Sans. At least I would have laughed more. Maybe the guy used Arial just to piss me off!
[evil]

Just to be an even bigger smart ass, here's a proper rendition of the Dolby Digital logo, one official version circa 1995, the other version circa 2004:

 -

I commonly refer to stretched or squished type as examples of "font murder." The way the SRS logo is tortured is an example of logo murder.

The DTS, THX and JBL icons look pretty accurate. But overall, why in the hell is everything crammed together like that? Is it a political statement on the overcrowded slums of Hong Kong, Bangkok or Rio De Janeiro?
