Steve Guttag, please for heaven's sake tell Leo Enticknap or John Pytlak if the AFI Silver is set up to run nitrate.

You will receive an autographed photo of Carlos Gardel, Argentinean Tango King.

I believe this is an inappropriate place to post such a thing...email would have been much more appropriate.

The AFI/Silver is NOT nitrate rated. That was a decision that was made long ago. The AFI Theatre at the Kennedy Center (now closed) was indeed Nitrate rated and ran nitrate films...there is a picture of the result of a nitrate fire there floating about in the internet.

Agreed with Steve. This presumably relates to a thread on the AMIA e-mail list, which was started last week by someone else (i.e. neither myself nor John Pytlak - can't remember who now) and which turned into a more general 'projecting nitrate' thread. With rule #5 of this forum in mind, I don't want to kick off a parallel thread here. If anyone wants to join the AMIA list, you can do so here.
