I'm starting a thread to see how many of you out there have put your 3D modelling skills to the test when tackling anything film related. You can have used any software package and even image software like /corel but the result must be CGI only not scanned.

Please explain what software you used and why you did it. Here is mine:

Xenon Bulb

Lamphouse 1

Lamphouse 2

Lamphouse 3

Lamphouse 4

I used Cinema 4D for both the xenon bulb and lamphouse. The biggest challenge was getting the quartz envelope of the lamp to look right. Decided in the end to enviroment map the emergency exit photo on the glass. Also check out the 'refraction' of the quartz and the particle simulation for the inlet current. I am building several models for training purposes & hope to build a model Vic 5 and Century SA

If you would like a copy of the .C4D file - e-mail me!
