I have a quick question for all the financial gurus out there in FT land..

I will need to rollover an IRA set up with the company soon after departing (3/24/05). I've checked into it wit the holder (Aviva) and have been informed that I can continue to contribute personally. Those funds would be taxed, so I would deduct them from my tax returns for the year.

My question is -
Does anyone know of an IRA (Roth or other) that I can roll the current plan into with no penalty and little or no setup costs?

I don't know a lot, actually, I don't know ANYTHING about IRA's, so any and all help or suggestions you folks can lend is, and will be, tremendously appreciated.

Thanks again!

Related to which there was a wonderful story in the local paper about a year ago along the lines of 'Shock horror! McDonald's is funding the IRA!' The source was a new employee who had noticed an entry titled 'IRA contribution' on her payslip. Of course it only took one 'phone call to establish that it referred to IRA as in Individual Retirement Account (what we call a pension). But I (and the reporter) still thought the idea hilarious that, if a big multinational business was topslicing its employees' pay to fund a terrorist organisation, that they would openly record the fact on their payslips.
