Felt it here in San Jose. I hope there's no damage to the Fremont theatre in SLO.

The Fremont should be fine. I am going to be there later today so I will let you all know. Shook pretty good here in SLO town.

I just took a 'tour' of downtown here in Paso Robles. No visible additional damage that I could see, though lots of folks standing outside talking on cellphones and emergency people checking things out. The people who work downtown seemed to be congregating in the park.

But, man, was this a long-lasting, rolling quake, as distinct from the severe jolting of last December's event .. which was on a different fault. There were apparently four strong quakes within a minute's time, and fairly strong aftershocks which are continuing, but are also diminishing in intensity.

The newly-upgraded USGS instrumentation out in Parkfield will provide a lot of useful data. If it didn't get it this time it never will! [Big Grin]

Just heard it's been upgraded to a magnitude 6.0 again .. it had been 'downgraded' to 5.9 for a while. A 'big one', but a deep one, which I understand also helps lessen the surface damage.

Glad you're all Ok in SLO, Mr. Koch .. hope the Fremont is Ok as well.

Ron Yost .. Rock and Roll .. Roll is better in quakes. [Big Grin]

The Fremont theatre is fine. We continue to have aftershocks. For those who do not know the Fremont you can view it at www.cinematour.com
