Author Topic: Questions regarding the Alloy Orchestra John Plasket Film Handler Posts: 16 From: Berks County, PA, USA Registered: Feb 2004 posted 07-23-2004 01:36 AM                    I noticed in another thread (in the Film Handler's Forum) that some of you were talking about the Alloy Orchestra. I've heard of them, and while one of the members is also part of one of my favorite bands (that would be Roger Miller of Mission of Burma), I've never actually heard them. So... keeping in mind the "dancing about architecture" analogy, could somebody please try to describe their sound? Specifically, that word "synthesizer" scares me, even though Miller plays it... does it have an obviously synthetic sound? I personally prefer to hear scores when done on synthesizers to sound like synthesizers, as opposed to some scores which *attempt* to sound like an orchestra via sampled instruments.
