I have a pretty cheap scanner. It's a HP ScanJet 3970.
The glass is getting pretty nasty looking. Is Windex okay to use for cleaning it?

Should be fine, or you can use 90% isopropyl. If you're worried about staining the plastic, you can use the foam window cleaners that they sell at auto-care shops. I personally just lick the glass clean, then photoshop out the smudges.
