I was in a meeting today with a very aggressive person who didn't help things one bit. Over a pint in the station pub afterwards, one of my colleagues commented that 'she's a right bunny boiler!' My first thought was that this was a Yorkshire dialect expression meaning lesbian, but (i) I have lived in Yorkshire for the last five years and never heard the phrase before, and (ii) the lady concerned is married with three kids, and my colleague knows that. Any ideas on the etymology of this one?

Are you a Bunny Boiler?

Also, a bit more scholarly definition:

Peevish.co.uk Dictionary of U.K. Slang.

Eek! Given her interaction with someone else in that room (don't want to say anything else, given that any of these people could potentially be reading this), nearly all is revealed. And the rest is on its way, thanks to a DVD order from amazon.co.uk...

Sounds like your friend was referring to FATAL ATTRACTION. Glenn Close boiled a pet rabbit because she was a crazy bi-atch... [evil]
