It hasn't hit the newspapers yet, but it will tomorrow...

until then...

Six billboards in utah that displayed a church and a rainbow and the phrases.. "alternative lifestyle?" and "til death do us part" led people for weeks to believe a new organization was pushing for gay marraige in utah. It also had a website to go to..

www.alternativeutah.com

All it did was put people to a single page that had a copy of the billboard on it, displayed here...

 -

After one billboard had been torn down and then defaced with red paint after it was put back up, and weeks of complaints to government leaders, newspaper editors and various radio and tv shows... this morning the billboards were different, showing that it was a prank billboard by long time local radio show "Kerry, Bill, Gina, Radio From Hell" on local station X96.. shown here...

 -

The radio personalities deny it was intended to offend anyone, as they claim to be one of the most gay friendly radio shows around, and it was only intended to get people's attention by creating a controversial billboard that would make people actually think, good or bad, before announcing that it was in fact NOT a real organization, but just a radio show stunt.

As soon as a newspaper article comes available, I will post it.

You can also listen to thier morning show at X96.com weekdays from 6:00 am to 10:00 am, mountain standard time.

Ciao

Dave

That's hysterical.

To think that a picture of a rainbow and a church, and a few harmless words would make people go apeshit and destroy things.

To the "church people" who defaced property: Is that what God has been teaching you?? To wage Jihad on billboards? [Smile]

It amazes me, that church organizations who are supposed to be teaching love, kindness and forgiveness go totally off their pews when something even remotely challenges their ideals. Whatever happened to praying for your enemies?

Considering it happened in Utah doesn't surprise me a bit. We
have the same thing here in Arizona, although somewhat milder,
being that we are an annex to Utah.
