Was the 300+ ft. tower atop the WTC included in the claimed height of the building? It seems that many of the over 1000 foot buildings are 800 to 900 feet or less with towers added to increase the height hype. Actual heights of the actual buildings are difficult to find.

According to a Port Authority brochure I still have (aquired from one of my visits to the WTC) they listed two heights. The observation deck was 1362 feet from grade. The top of the transmission tower on the other building was 1710 feet. The 1710 part is an easy one to remember for me thanks to a Lawton-to-New York City drive that was 1710 miles.
