Late last week, I noticed a new billboard here in town. It's been on the news and in the newspaper. I'll try my luck at using the picture upload feature:

 -

This caused a lot of controversy. Just one hour after it had gone up last Thursday, the mayor and city council were trying to get it removed. It is located on I-565 between Jordan Lane and US 231, which is on the main entryway into Huntsville, in a location guaranteed to be seen my the most people in the city.

Everyone was wondering who had put the sign up. One of my friends insisted that it was a Calvin Klein ad because of the "ck". Well, he was wrong. A couple of days ago, the sign was changed to the following:

 -

It turned out to be a local radio station, Rocket 95.1 .

I admit I liked the old sign better. I figured a 6-letter word was going to appear in the blanks since each blank took up the same amount of space as the "ck" did originally. I was trying to figure out what 4 or 6 letter word would work. [Smile]

Yes, it surely did! The newspaper article from yesterday stated that many people honked at the person that was changing the billboard a couple of days ago. Many people have noticed the sign and it's been a frequent topic of conversation around here. At least two TV stations had something on their news about it and of course the newspaper ran an article. I'd say that's pretty good publicity for the cost of changing a billboard twice in a week.
