Can someone point me to (or display here) a schematic for a simple, adjustable audio oscillator? What I want is one where I can do a frequency sweep. I built a very simple one with a 555 chip, a couple of caps and resistors and pots but I'm not happy with the non sinusoidal output (I added an output cap to smooth it but still). The simpler the better.

The best oscillator I have used is the Loftec (now sold by goldline) it has a constant amplitude output a db meter and frequency counter. Also it can used to calculate impedance as well
to build something similar isn't worth the time considering its low cost

For me the best hand-held audio oscillator is made by Neutrik , Minirator MR1
You find here an affordable audio generator:
-Pink noise
-White noise
-Audio sine or square from 20 Hz to 20 kHz
-Polarity test
-Auto sweep (timing adjustable)
-Balanced XLR and unbalanced phono output

Check the following link:

For me this is a great tool; every tech should have one [Smile]

Bye,
