Anyone else notice the first link the telephone worker guy in the lift isn't even watching his co-worker get electrocuted? Actual flames surrounding this guy and yet he walks away from it? Note it's on a tripod page?

Looks like [bs] to me.

FWIW, the Tripod home page belongs to a lineman who has lot of other "legit" material about electrical linemen and safety. I found the site when researching an article about electrostatics in the on-line ESD Journal:

If it is a fake, they did a pretty good job of "finessing" the lighting in the middle photo of the glowing body being the brightest source of illumination. Though I do agree the guy in the cherry-picker seems a bit too calm.

I've seen a video someplace that looked very similar to this. I think it might be real.

You think that's bad, look at this. Its a series of photos of what happened to some poor schmuck in the former Soviet Union who was trying to steal powerlines.

WARNING! Very graphic:

Michael ???

I'm not in a bad mood at all. You must remember text tends to carry the mood of the reader since you cannot see my face nor hear the tone of my voice.

Please excuse me. I went away looking at some of the graphic images. [Eek!] [puke] [eyes]

I couldn't believe some of what I saw.

I'll have a bath, and get back here later.

I have seen an episode on Real TV where a hot air baloon flew into some power lines.

Matthew,
That actually happened about 10 years ago roughly 3 miles from where I was living at the time. It was near geneva, Ill. and three were in the balloon at the time. I think one was killed and two were badly burned and had broken bones fomr the resulting fall.
