It is indeed amazing that a one eyed person could come up with one of the best 3D films ever made. Its obvious he did his homework. The 3D was supervised by a special technician, according to the credits as I recall. The movie is memorable because it is a good story, told by a good director; someone who translated it to the screen with great skill and creativity. He also directed several good Westerns, like the Randolph Scott starrer, "The Stranger Wore a Gun" (also in 3D).
