At this time, the cause is unknown. The Media reported:

Visibility in the area at the time was 2 1/2 miles, well above the one-mile minimum for a standard instrument landing. The crash site was south of the normal approach path, so the plane must have deviated for unknown and unexplained reasons.

At the site, an FBI spokesman said there was no indication the crash was related to terrorism. He also said it would take time to recover the bodies, which remained in the wreckage late Friday.

CNN said it was icey type rain at the time of the crash. I suppose its possible to ahev 2.5 mile visibility though even under those conditions.
