Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I remember the first TV commercials for this film stating that it was rated R. Does anybody know if the reason that they pushed the relese date back was so that they could re-cut the movie for a PG-13 rating?

Maybe they had a MPAA appeal on the rating.
To change the R rating to PG-13.

The movie had it's PG-13 rating before the date change. I still say the date change was do to the 9-11 aniversary.
